Abstract |
Despite the recent surge in popularity to reduce toxic waste at its source by altering production techniques and substituting nontoxic materials, a national long-term commitment to waste reduction is not at hand. Unless we gain the will to establish a more pro-active approach to environmental protection--backed by technical assistance and a strong regulatory framework--the nation may lose the waste management battle. |
