Abstract |
The organic carbon-referenced method of representing sorption of pesticides (K sub oc approach), including the assumptions inherent in the method and the implications of these assumptions, for soils and sediments is described. Indirect methods of estimating K sub oc values for pesticides and an alternative approach for determining pesticide distribution coefficients on a surface area basis are presented. To assist potential users in mathematical modeling, a scheme for selecting an appropriate estimation procedure is outlined. Finally, various sources of existing data are identified and described and K sub oc prediction equations are presented. |
