Abstract |
A review of the literature reveals little about the transportation of sediment in these shallow streams and even less about the effects of rainfall on sediment transport in these streams. This is the portion of sediment transport to which this study is directed. The objectives of this study are the following: To determine the effect of rainfall on total sediment transport in a shallow stream; to establish a relationship between changes in flow conditions due to simulated rainfall and the resultant changes in sediment concentrations; to determine how simulated rainfall affects suspended sediment transport capacity; and to apply the results of this study where they may be appropriate to natural streams. |
