Abstract | Three field studies on air pollution from mobile sources, termed AUTOEX experiments, were conducted at Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, in 1987, Leningrad in 1988, and Vilnius in 1989. The principal objectives of the studies were to intercompare U.S. and Soviet air monitoring methodologies and to develop a data base for testing and improving numerical dispersion models. The AUTOEX experiments were clearly a success and have led to improvements in air monitoring technology and a better understanding of the contribution of mobile sources to air pollution. |
