Abstract |
EPA is issuing a final rule which specifies deadlines for the issuance of NPDES permits for storm water discharges associated with industrial activity and discharges from municipal separate storm sewer systems serving a population of 100,000 or more, and deadlines by which dischargers shall comply with the terms of their permits. The action also clarifies that application requirements and deadlines for certain discharges which EPA had previously exempted from the scope of the NPDES storm water regulations are reserved pending further rulemaking. These include discharges from construction sites disturbing less than 5 acres of land and discharges exempt under 40 CFR 122.26(b)(14)(xi) because of a lack of exposure of industrial activity of storm water. |
