Abstract
EPA is currently establishing MCLs for a number of synthetic organic chemicals (SOCs) which might occur in contaminated water supplies. The document assists EPA to define 'best available technology' (BAT) to remove SOCs from water supplies. The document considers the effectiveness of treatment technologies to remove contaminants and the level of treatment that is affordable for water systems.
