Abstract |
A method is presented for estimating rapidly the major emissions of air pollutants in a community. The method is based on information that is readily available in most urban areas; it does not entail extensive surveys or sampling procedures. Application of this survey method will yield a series of tables, maps, and diagrams that indicate (1) the weights of emissions of selected pollutants, by year and by season; (2) the relative importance of various fuels and types of sources in producing the emissions; (3) the relative amounts of pollutants emitted in various geographic sub-areas of the community. Such information constitutes a useful tool for developing an air conservation program. (Author) |
