Abstract |
The objective of the field program was to determine the operational characteristics and overall acceptability of popular models of biological toilets and a few select grey water systems. A field observation scheme was devised to take advantage of in-use sites throughout the State of California. A health risk assessment was performed concurrently using environmental health experts to estimate the probability that a significant failure of a particular on-site waste treatment and disposal system would occur. Model education and surveillance-monitoring frameworks are presented. |
