Abstract
The purpose of this study was to estimate the acute toxicity (LC50) of TCC (14C-labeled 3,4,4-' trichlorocarbanilide) to pink shrimp (Penaeus duoratum) under static test conditions. The LC50 is defined as the concentration of the test material in dilution water which causes mortality of 50% in the exposed test population after a fixed period of time. This value is often used as a relative indicator of potential acute hazards resulting from release of the test material into aquatic environments. A 96-hour definitive test was conducted from 2 - 6 May 1988 at the Environmental Toxicology & Chemistry Division laboratories of Springborn Life Sciences, Inc. (SLS), in Wareham, Massachusetts. All raw data and the final report produced during this study are stcred at the above location.
