Abstract |
The National Survey of Lead-Based Paint in Housing was conducted under the sponsorship of the Department of Housing and Urban Development to provide basic data for comprehensive and workable plans for the prompt and cost-effective abatement of lead-based paint hazards in private and public housing. The comprehensive and workable plans (CWPs) were required by the Lead-Based Paint Poisoning Prevention Act (LPPPA), as amended by Section 566 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1987. The CWP for private housing was issued to Congress in December, 1990. The CWP for public housing is being prepared for future issuance. This report is Appendix I of the Report on the National Survey of Lead-Based Paint in Housing. It presents a detailed description of the design and methodology of the survey, including research design, survey sample design, data collection protocols, quality assurance, and data preparation. |
