Abstract | Environmental impacts resulting from offshore oil development are considered for phytoplankton, zooplankton, benthic biota, fish, marine mammals, and birds. Shore-related effects are also covered. The relative probability of oil spills occurring because of earthquakes, tsunamis, and severe storms is discussed. |
