| Abstract | The study reviews and compares suitable processes for recovering byproducts and fuel value from coal refuse. It was conducted in two phases. In the first, a number of methods for recovering products were investigated. In phase II, the more promising methods were investigated in greater detail. Results are generally positive and indicate that the selected process could economically utilize coal refuse under certain conditions. It also shows that process improvements are possible which could further help the overall feasibility. (Author) |
