Abstract |
Discussions are presented of various water clarification systems used in the aggregate and ready-mixed concrete industries. The overall problem of waste water disposition in each type of plant is studied. An analysis is made of the use of settling ponds, filter ponds and coagulants. Recycling and use of recycled water is discussed with recommendations for further study of the potential use of waste water from ready-mix plants for concrete batch water. Since many aggregate and ready-mix concrete plants now have effective clarification or recycling systems the overall purpose of the study is to make these systems known throughout the industry so proven systems can be made available to all.
