Abstract
This decision document presents the selected remedial action for the Utah Power & Light/American Barrel Site in Salt Lake City, Utah. The objective of this Record of Decision (ROD) is to provide a remedy to address all contamination caused by previous site activities located on the American Barrel Yard and adjacent properties which affect surface soils, subsurface soils, and groundwater. Contamination from historical operations and contaminant sources left on-site at the time of abandonment have migrated into soil and groundwater. Remediation will be to the extent of contamination emanating from the American Barrel Yard and Denver Rio Grande and Western properties. The response action described in this ROD will permanently address all principal threats through treatment.
