Abstract
The study of the water supplies in the New Orleans SMSA was conducted by the Public Health Service, the Louisiana State Department of Health, and the 26 water supplies involved, as a part of a nationwide program to determine the situation with regard to the nation's drinking water supplies. The report defines problems in each water system, points up the underlying causes for the existence of these problems and recommends solutions to the causes. The purpose was to furnish a document to be used by each of the water supplies and the State Health Department to locate and correct physical and operational deficiencies found in the survey.
