Abstract
The U. S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is establishing National Primary Drinking Water Regulations for a number of inorganic, radionuclide and corrosion related contaminants. The document evaluates waste disposal options, and associated costs, for drinking water treatment processes which remove the following contaminants: nitrates, barium, mercury, silver, arsenic, selenium, chromium, cadmium, lead, copper, cyanide, fluoride, radon, uranium, man-made radionuclides and radium. The report identifies the options for disposing of the waste byproducts from the drinking water treatment processes and develops cost estimates for the specific waste disposal options.
