Abstract |
Cultures of Chinese hamster ovary cells have been used to quantify specific locus mutation and to determine mutagenicity of chemicals (Hsie et al., 1981). The objective of this assay is to determine if the test substance can induce a mutation in standard cultures of mammalian cells either directly or after it has been activated by microsomal enzymes. |
