Abstract |
The report provides an overview of the anticipated oil shale industry, including the magnitude of the resources available and the likely technical environmental problems to be encountered. Specific technologies likely to be employed in the mining, oil extraction, and on-site upgrading processes are also identified. The status of development of these technologies and their potential economic, resource, and environmental impacts upon the oil shale resource regions and the nation as a whole are also described. |
