| Abstract |
The decision document presents the selected alternative to address Areas I and J groundwater at the Naval Air Engineering Station in Lakehurst, New Jersey. The selected interim alternative to address groundwater at Area I and J is: A Natural Restoration Study with Groundwater Monitoring. The NAES proposes to evaluate the effects of natural restoration for a period of three years. The data obtained from the investigation will be used to refine the existing contaminant transport model. The revised model will provide more accurate predictions of the time required for natural restoration of the entire plume. Upon completion of this interim action, a final Record of Decision will be prepared. The findings of the study will form that basis of the final Record of Decision. |
