Abstract

This introduction deals with two states, Illinois and Missouri. The objectives of the interstate air pollution study report are outlined, the air pollution laws, ordinances and control programs for each state at the state and local level are defined, air pollution complaints (survey records) are discussed, planning and zoning (laws, ordnances and programs) are discussed for several counties in each state, and future planning organizational pattern considerations are mentioned.
