Abstract |
The Federal Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice (IWG) is supporting and evaluating 15 demonstration projects to investigate and demonstrate whether collaborative, integrated problem-solving can succeed in building partnerships and local capacity to resolve local environmental justice problems. Each project is unique because conditions and capacities varied widely. This Status Report provides information on the implementation of these projects and outlines the characteristics common to successful models with the goal of promoting widespread replication. This report summarizes the lessons learned from the implementation of the Interagency Environmental Justice Action Agenda (Action Agenda) during the past year. The Federal Interagency Working Group on Environmental Justice (IWG), designed the Action Agenda to create dynamic and proactive partnerships among community-based organizations, business and industry, non-governmental organizations, and government at all levels to help communities address local environmental justice issues. |
