The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has completed its reregistration eligibility decision for the pesticide case methylisothiazolinone, which includes the active ingredients 5-chloro-2-methyl- 3(2H)-isothiazolone and 2-methyl-3(2H)-isothiazolone. This decision includes a comprehensive reassessment of the required target data and the use patterns of currently registered products. Section I is the introduction. Section II describes methylisothiazolinone, its uses, data requirements and regulatory history.
