Abstract
This report is a record of the proceedings from a workshop held in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 8-10, 1977, among a group of experts in the field of processing municipal solid waste into useable fuels and other recyclable materials. The body of the report consists of a verbatim discussion among meeting participants. These sections were transcribed from the tape-recorded meeting sessions. In addition, a summary of all discussions and conclusions is included. The report serves as a comprehensive, up to date, state-of-the-art summary for municipal solid waste processing technology which should be useful to designers and researchers in the field of solid waste management.
