Abstract | An electric power company has completed a nuclear powered electrical generating facility on the North Anna River in Louisa County, Virginia, with a 14,500 acre reservoir serving as a coolant. Pre-impoundment studies have been completed on the evaluation of the existing macrobenthic community and water quality conditions in the impoundment basin. Of particular importance is a study of water quality deterioration resulting from acid mine drainage from a creek in the area. The results are considered valuable to future planning. |
