| Abstract |
Progress in controlling water pollution in Region V of HEW's Division of Water Supply and Pollution Control is reported for fiscal year 1965. Region V is a five state area bordered by the Great Lakes and the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers and their tributary streams. Accomplishments are reported for: the construction of sewage treatment facilities; the development and implementation of comprehensive programs for pollution abatement in cooperation with the several states; abatement actions under the enforcement authority of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act; and technical assistance to Federal, state and local agencies in pollution abatement problems. Work plans for the coming year are also summarized in this report. |
