The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has integrated a commitment to reduce its carbon footprint, protect the environment, and better understand and address climate change adaptation into its core programs, including: strategic planning, budget processes, operations and management systems. The EPA is committed to the priorities and sustainability goals established in its Strategic Sustainability Performance Plan for the following areas: Greenhouse gas and energy reductions; Fleet efficiency; Water conservation; High performance and sustainable buildings, ESPC initiatives, and regional and local planning; Pollution prevention, waste reduction and diversion; Sustainable acquisition; Electronic stewardship and data centers, and Agency innovation and governmentwide support.
