This report describes initiatives that each state has taken to streamline and expedite the environmental permitting process. Information for this survey was gathered primarily through telephone interviews with state officials and from secondary sources of information. The resulting report is a state-by-state description of the environmental permitting reforms that those officials interviewed consider to be the most significant. It is designed to serve as a reference tool for persons interested in learning about the types of environmental permitting reforms initiated across the country.
