Abstract | The purpose of the investigation is to document possible improvements to design, operation, and maintenance of heat treatment and low pressure oxidation systems for conditioning sludge prior to dewatering in municipal wastewater treatment plants. The information in the report is intended to supplement and qualify literature, provide a basic understanding of thermal conditioning processes, as well as to provide concise information on design considerations, operational characteristics, and process and equipment problems and possible solutions. |
