Abstract |
The CPfM technology is designed to remove trace to moderate levels of nontritium radionuclides and heavy metal pollutants from water. The technology uses a proprietary compound that consists of inorganic, oxide-based granules. This mixed is designed to remove heavy metals and radionuclides through a combination of sorption, chemical complexing and filtration. Results of chemical analysis show up to 95% removal of uranium and gross alpha contamination from groundwater. However, removal efficiencies for the three runs conducted at constant operating conditions were inconsistent for unknown reasons. This Innovative Technology Evaluation Report includes information on the technology applicability, economic analysis, technology limitations, description, process residuals, site requirements, and latest performance data. |
