Abstract | Pursuant to Section 202(c) of the Clean Air Act, the Environmental Protection Agency contracted with the National Academy of Sciences to study the technological feasibility of the 1975-76 Federal Motor Vehicle Emission Standards. This is a report on that study as carried out by the Committee on Motor Vehicle Emissions and covers various topics including test procedures and certification, conventional control technology, alternative engines, in-use emissions and manufacturing, cost and producibility. |
