Abstract
Report contains information residing in EPA's Integrated Risk Information System (IRIS). It was prepared to assist State and local air pollution control officials in the identification of possible health hazards associated with steel mill emissions. One objective is to present the Lowest Observed Effect Levels (LOEL) and the No Observed Effect Levels (NOEL) for the noncancer health effects associated with exposure to steel mill emissions. For some pollutants, these effects are used to calculate a Reference Dose (RfD). Information is also presented on the carcinogenic potential of steel mill emissions.
