Abstract
C-47, C-48 and C-49 were evaluated for eye irritation potential in rabbits. C-48 produced conjunctival redness in one unwashed and one washed eye at twenty-four hours. C-49 produced corneal opacity in four unwashed eyes; conjunctival redness in one washed and four unwashed eyes; chemosis in two unwashed eyes; and discharge in one washed and two unwashed eyes. C-47 produced no evidence of eye irritation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the eye irritation potential of C-47, C-48 and C-49 in rabbits to the Federal Hazardous Substance Act, 16 CFR, and Part 1500.42. The study was initiated on December 26, 1978, and was terminated on January 2, 1979.
