Design standards for soil erosion and sediment control in construction sites were developed to provide technical guidance to construction permit applicants. Utilization of the design standards provides the user with a series of management practices appropriate for erosion control under differing site conditions in adequate detail to be incorporated within plans and specifications. Incorporation of these guidelines into development of plans and specifications will achieve compliance with the goals of Illinois' Water Quality Management Plan by construction permit applicants.
