Abstract
The report presents a comprehensive tabulation of the nation's air quality and monitoring activities for 1974. These summaries are based on data acquired through extensive monitoring activities conducted by Federal, state and local air pollution control agencies, and compiled according to the nation's 247 Air Quality Control Regions. Information is provided on the five pollutants for which National Ambient Air Quality Standards have been set (suspended particulate matter, sulfur dioxide, carbon monoxide, oxidants, and nitrogen dioxide). Analyses of pollutant trends are presented for the period 1970-1974, plus a discussion of nonurban ozone and estimates of nationwide emissions for the period 1970-1974.
