Abstract
This manual provides an environmental management statement of procedures available for water quality management with particular emphasis on urban stormwater. The manual summarizes and presents in condensed form a range of available procedures and methodologies that are available for identifying and estimating pollutant load generation and transport from major sources within water quality management planning areas. Although an annotated chapter is provided for the assessment of non-urban pollutant loads, the major emphasis of the manual is directed toward the assessment of problems and selection of alternatives in urban areas, with particular concern for stormwater related problems. Also included in the manual are methodologies for assessing the present and future water quality impacts from major sources as well as summaries of available information and techniques for analysis and selection of structural and non-structural control alternatives.
