Abstract |
A chemiluminescent analytical technique for determining ambient air concentrations of formaldehyde (HCHO) was developed. The technique makes use of the chemiluminescent reaction between HCHO and gallic acid in the presence of hydrogen peroxide in a basic solution. Using this technique, HCHO concentrations were measured in the California South Coast Air Basin. Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and several other pollutants were also measured. |
