| Abstract | Among the chemical warfare agents that might be encountered in civil defense are sarin, tabun, and soman (G-agents); sulfur and nitrogen mustards; arsenicals, cyanides, and fluoro-organic compounds. In this discussion six rapid colorimetric tests are recommended for the quantitative determination of these agents in water. The tests are adaptable to both laboratory and field conditions. A general review is presented of methods for the detection and quantitative determination of certain chemical warfare agents which might be encountered in civil defense. (Author Modified Abstract) |
