Abstract |
Sources of information were searched for methods of analysis for asbestos, beryllium, lead, cadmium, selenium, and mercury that would be suitable for analyzing stationary source emissions. Methods of analysis were then chosen on the basis of a survey of current knowledge on methodology, ease of using the procedure, availability of the equipment needed to perform the tests, sensivitity based upon proposed EPA standards of emission and threshold limit values (TLV), and specificity requirements. One method was chosen for each pollutant. A detailed discussion of how the methods of analysis were selected is presented. These methods of analysis are presented in Appendix 2. Some laboratory and field testing was performed for methods of analysis that required modification of existing methods. The methods of analysis selected in Phase I were tested, evaluated, and then modified if necessary. (Modified author abstract) |
