Abstract
This publication provides waste reduction tips for small businesses. The purpose is to help Alaskan small businesses manage hazardous materials and reduce hazardous wastes. It provides a list of the types of wastes that can be reduced and defines waste reduction. Several examples of the following reduction methodologies are also listed: plant operations improvements, good record keeping, alternate uses of raw materials, raw material and waste recycling, equipment modification and waste material treatment and exchange.
