| Abstract | The purpose of this two-year record of 3,076 hazardous material incidents is to help demonstrate the magnitude of the hazardous material spill problem in the United States today. To this end, it is mainly a compilation of those incidents reported to the ten Regional Offices of the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The report is divided into two sections covering the fiscal years 1979 and 1978, respectively. The incident data includes location, date, type of incident, material involved and its volume, the environmental medium affected, and additional information as comments where available. |
