Abstract
This study was designed to evaluate the ability of D4 to inhibit the major P450 enzymes in human liver microsomes (namely CYPiA2, CYP2A6, CYP2B6, CYP2C9, CYP2C19, CYP2D6, CYP2E1 and CYP3A4/5 and CYP4A9/11), with the aim of ascertaining the potential of D4 to inhibit the metabolism of drugs and other foreign chemicals. In addition to human liver microsomes, D4 was evaluated for its ability to inhibit CYP1A1/2 and CYP2B1/2 in liver microsomes from rats treated with 3-methylcholanthrene and phenobarbital, respectively.
