Abstract
The hydrologic study of Maynard Creek watershed, located in the Bridger Mountains northeast of Bozeman, Montana, was begun in 1965 by the Montana University Joint Water Resources Research Center. A major unit of the multi-phase research investigation that was initiated was the development and installation of a centrally-located data acquisition system to facilitate the collecting and handling of data from different locations on the watershed. In order to evaluate the effectiveness and reliability of the components of the data acquisition facilities, as well as to provide information regarding the hydrology of the watershed, a series of meteorological and stream gaging stations were established on the watershed, all equipped with conventional recording instruments. These stations have been operated continuously since their installation in 1965. All data collected to date has been reduced to digital form, and some analysis has been performed on part of the data. The purpose of this report is to describe the design, installation and operation of the 'conventional' stations. (Author)
