Abstract |
The Hydrologic Evaluation of Landfill Performance (HELP) computer program is a quasi-two-dimensional hydrologic model of water movement across, into, through, and out of landfills. The primary purpose of the model is to assist in the comparison of design alternatives as judged by their water balances. This report documents the solution methods and process descriptions used in Version 3 of the HELP model. Section 1 provides basic program identification. Section 2 provides a narrative description of the simulation model. Section 3 presents data generation algorithms and default values used in Version 3. Section 4 describes the method of solution and hydrologic process algorithms. Section 5 lists the assumptions and limitations of the HELP model. |
