Abstract
Formaldehyde emissions sampling hardware became an issue with the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) release of a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) for Methanol-Fueled Vehicles and Engines. The report discusses a formaldehyde sampling system that EPA's Emission Control Technology Division, Test and Evaluation Branch (TEB) will use for tests of light duty vehicles and light duty trucks. It also discusses the considerations involved in selecting the specific hardware used to meet TEB's needs. The purpose of the report is to provide information on one approach for sampling formaldehyde emissions and to explain why the approach was taken.
