| Abstract | The paper profiles the current status of hazardous waste thermal destruction in the United States, including facilities and wastes typically handled. The results of extensive EPA-sponsored performance tests are presented for incinerators, industrial boilers, and industrial process kilns. Other aspects of thermal destruction are also addressed, including waste incinerability ranking methods, emissions of potentially hazardous products of incomplete combustion, and current and future thermal destruction capacity. |
