Abstract |
The purpose of this project is to establish phase-equilibrium data necessary for evaluation of solvent extraction as a treatment and/or recovery process for large number of the organic Priority Pollutants in aqueous streams. The principal piece of information sought has been the equilibrium distribution coefficient, KD, defined as the weight fraction of solute in the solvent phase divided by the weight fraction of solute in the aqueous phase, at equilibrium and at high dilution. |
