Abstract |
A purified preparation of the simian rotavirus SA-11 containing mostly single virion particles and a preparation of cell associated SA-11 virions were tested for their resistance to inactivation by three disinfectants. With chlorine, both virus preparations were inactivated more rapidly at pH 6 than 10. With chlorine dioxide both virus preparations were inactivated more rapidly at pH 10 than 6. Monochloramine at pH 8 inactivated both virus preparations but at a much slower rate than chlorine or chlorine dioxide. |
