Abstract |
With the ever-increasing interest in the application of ozone for water and wastewater treatment, several major questions arise in the minds of those new to the field: (1) What is the nature of ozone. (2) How is ozone applied in water and wastewater treatment. (3) How is ozone apalzed in its various applications. How are the generation of ozone and ozonation reactions controlled analytically. How are ozonation processes automated. Because ozone is a gas at normal temperatures and pressures, because it is only partially soluble in aqueous media, and because it decomposes in aqueous media at significant rates (i.e., with a half-life usually of less than one hour), analyses for ozone and control ozone generation and ozonation reactions are unique to this advancing technology. |
