Abstract
The report discusses a program under way since spring 1962. Among its several phases are field studies at four locations where seven pulp and paper mills discharge wastes into Washington's Puget Sound waters. Reported are the findings of essentially the first year's field research at Everett, Washington, one of the four study sites. Also identified problems encountered and new procedures found necessary. The program objective was to determine the effects of wastes from the pulp and paper mills on the marine environment and its harvestable resources.
