Abstract |
Two commercially available biochemical test identification systems were evaluated for their ability to accurately identify species of the genus Escherichia. Three separate laboratories participated in the study. The test kits did not always correctly identify species of Escherichia, but in only one instance was an isolate misidentified as Escherichia coli. The reactions of the isolates on media normally used for drinking water analysis are also discussed. |
